Build DayZ maps in hours,
not months.

Big G' ToolZ is a growing toolkit that takes the pain out of DayZ map making — roads that lay themselves, towns you plan with clicks, forests you paint in zones, and a one-button bake straight into the game.

See it in action

Two minutes, straight from the toolshed — Big Grampa walks the main tools.

What's in the box

Every tool works on the real thing — your Terrain Builder project, your shapefiles, your heightmap. No exports to learn, no formats to fight.

Town Planner — towns you plan with clicks

Plan whole towns visually on a 1 m-per-pixel satellite map. Every vanilla DayZ building comes with a real preview rendered from the game model, and drops in already facing the road, already at the right ground height — with loot spawn positions generated for every building you place. Fill whole streets in one pass, draw footpaths and fence lines, drop street signs named after your own roads — and a workflow bar always tells you what to do next.

Town Planner — building palette with 3D previews beside a satellite map
Street fill mode — spacing, jitter, setback and side controls above the building palette
Street fill — click the start and end of a stretch and both sides fill with houses, spaced, jittered and set back the way you dialled it.
Linework tab — footpath surface types, poles, power line, guard rail and fence tools
Linework — footpaths with real surface swatches, plus poles, power lines, guard rails and fences, all drawn as simple lines.
Props tab — street sign palette with name blades generated from the map's own road names
Signs & props — street-name blades generated from your map's own road names, next to wrecks, military, industrial and landmark props.

Road Manager — draw a line, get a finished road

Perfectly mated pieces, smooth corners, clean junctions, tidy end caps. Browse every road on your map by name, swap the surface — dirt, asphalt, gravel — with one click, and choose how the ground under it is shaped. No more hand-placing road segments in Terrain Builder.

Road Manager — searchable road list, satellite map, and surface type picker with texture previews

Forester — forests you paint, not plant

Draw a zone on the map, pick a species mix — 60% spruce, 30% birch, 10% bush — set the density, and fill it with trees. Every species comes with a real preview, scatter respects slope and spacing, and zones stay editable: reshape them, re-dial the mix, re-scatter. Brush tools cover the small stuff.

Forester — species catalog with previews, fill density settings, and polygon zone tools over a satellite map

Bake & Deploy — one button to in-game

One click runs the whole build pipeline — export check, binarize, verify, pack, boot test, deploy — and puts your map in the game. No more guessing which of the twelve steps you forgot.

Bake & Deploy — nine-step build pipeline with deploy targets and a local boot test

Setup — running in minutes, on your map

First run scans your PC for DayZ Tools and your work drive — green ticks show what's found, so you fix only what's marked. Point New Project at your shapefiles and heightmap and Big G' ToolZ writes the project files and builds its catalogs from your own game data. Keep as many map projects as you like and hop between them with one click.

Setup — first-run environment check with green ticks for DayZ Tools, work drive, map configs, build tools and TB world export

🥾 Path Kit

Footpaths that hug the terrain with joints tighter than 1 cm. Draw the line, done.

⚡ Linework

Fences, stone walls and power lines laid along a drawn line — posts spaced, corners resolved, gates where you want them.

🪧 Signs & Props

Street-name blades, road signs and props dropped with a click — auto-faced along the road, at the right height.

📦 Relocator

Move a mod to a new folder or prefix without breaking a single path reference.

🔒 Obfuscator

Protect your finished PBOs before you release them.

🧊 Debinarizer

Recover editable MLOD models — and their model.cfg — from binarized ODOL .p3d files.

…and the little things that add up

  • Street fill — line both sides of a street with houses in one pass
  • Building pads — the terrain levels itself under every house
  • Roadside clearing — trees culled along roads and around lots automatically
  • Hover previews — big picture cards on every building and surface thumbnail
  • Previews from your files — thumbnails rendered from your own game data
  • Multi-map projects — keep several maps, switch with one click
  • Boot test — your map server-boots locally before every deploy
  • Search everything — tools and every road on your map, from the home screen

FAQ

The questions map makers actually ask.

What happens to my maps if I cancel?

Nothing. Everything you build — terrains, roads, shapefiles, layers — is standard DayZ project data saved on your PC. It's yours forever. Only the tools stop opening; your work is never held hostage.

Do I get the new tools too?

Yes. Every tool added to Big G' ToolZ while you're subscribed is included at no extra cost. That's the whole point of the subscription.

How many computers can I use it on?

Your license key works on up to 2 PCs (e.g. desktop + laptop). You can deactivate an old machine yourself anytime.

Do I need to be online?

Only occasionally. The tools check your license when they can and keep working offline for up to 7 days between checks.

What do I need to run it?

Windows 10/11 and the free DayZ Tools from Steam. If you can run Terrain Builder, you can run Big G' ToolZ.

Is there a refund policy?

Yes — 14 days, no questions asked. Between that and the free trial, there's plenty of time to make sure it fits your workflow.

Where do I get help?

The Big G' ToolZ Discord — a direct line to the developer and a community of map makers. The invite comes with your license.
